Day 33 - Kenyasayunfair
I shouldn’t be too proud of being on the winning team of a high school soccer team, but Mt. Kenya Academy beat another private school today, 3-1!
I started out playing center midfield, and then moved up to striker in the second half of the game. All the scoring came in the second half, but it’s tough playing a friendly game like this just for the fact that we don’t official referees. There were a few offside calls on me that were not even close. I think I had four called on me! Two of them were right, but the other two would have been point blank goals for me, but oh well, the other team was complaining about the calls too.
In other news, I received a letter from a New York State Senator which was pretty awesome! I’ll try and post the scanned picture of the letter I have, and maybe copy the text so everyone can see it.
I have been practicing for my ABRSM exam everyday which is very exciting. I have to purchase two more pieces, learn them, and then start working on scales a lot more. They have us playing chromatic scales which is kind of weird.. because they want them in so many different keys. I couldn’t think of an easier scale to play, well maybe Major, but chromatic is pretty simple. I still have to contact them and see if I can do these diplomas in one year, since at the moment I am scheduled to be here for a year.
